As Fall approaches we feel a coolness in the air, seems like things begin to slow down a bit in life and in nature. My favorite time of year and it's finally here, we decide to gather our baskets and collect the Fall gifts from Mother Earth.....
Acorns were collected to store for future projects.
After half a basket full, we were a little tired.
We also collected sticks and branches for our Spiderweb project this week!!
To start your web, lay 3 sticks over one another in a star shape. Tie them together
using white yarn. You could use any Halloween/ Fall color, purple, green, orange or cream. I decided on white for a more realistic web.
Start wrapping the yarn around each stick in a circular motion.
Once the sticks start feeling more secure, the little ones can help with the wrapping:)
You will end up with something like this, I have done 5 of these & none of them look the same.
Tie a knot when you start getting close to the end of your sticks.
Make a Pom Pom by wrapping yarn around two fingers approximately 25 times. Not Tight!!
Tie a knot between the two fingers....tight. Leave a long strand after the knot.
Cut loops on both sides.
Trim around the edges so all the strands are the same length.
Leave the long strand so you can tie pom pom onto your web.
Make a spider from pipe cleaner, again it can be any color.
Just cut one pipe cleaner into four equal parts and wrap them around each other.
There are better instructions on spider making via Google search:)
Secure another spider on your web and there you have it! Little Miss Muffet, watch out!!!
This is a larger version I made for our classroom:)
We also went to the pumpkin patch this week.
This one is just right to go with our farm decorations:)
and the little pumpkins of course..I forgot:)
Awesome afternoon helping decorate our entry-way!!
Love the webs!!
