~Whooooo Loves Cupcakes!~

This cute owl cupcake idea is courtesy of Pinterest.
 I decided to do a more colorful version of this cupcake using similar ingredients:)
There are so many versions of these, the ideas are endless. 
Just try  goo-whoo-gling them..Haha!!

I used boxed lemon cake mix and followed the cupcake instructions. 

Added to the mix, One box of lemon flavored instant pudding mix.

I also used dark brown eggs from our coop, my eggs along with the 

pudding mix make these cupcakes so moist they seem homemade:)

I made home made frosting:

1/2 cup (1stick) butter, room temp.

4 cup powdered sugar, extra as needed

1/4 cup almond milk

1 tsp. pure vanilla extract

2-3 tbs. strawberry preserves or jam

Mix all ingredients with the 3 cups of powdered sugar until smooth 

and then mix the remaining 1 cup. Add more as needed.

I used Golden, sandwich cookies and Tropical Candies but the choices are 
endless as sandwich cookie fillings/colors change with the 
seasons and there are to many candy flavors to name. 
FYI- I usually DO NOT condone consumption of such junk!! 
But...being these are just toppings and mainly for looks....whooo gives a hoot;)

Took cookies apart and placed candy in the middle you could try not making them 

so perfect for googly eyes. 

Used canned frosting for added "glue"

FYI- You may not need this if you choose to use a thicker store bought frosting.

My homemade frosting was thin and I needed a little extra something to 

keep eyes from sliding around.

Make owl beak using another candy sideways & use canned frosting 

to make owl eyebrows if you'd like.

Kid approved!!!
