~Howdy Partners~

The first day of Fall makes you realize the cool breeze is among us and we should take advantage of the long days before the time changes. I decided to spend more time outside this week and FINALLY give the kids the pony interaction they have been begging for:)

Beef & Barley Soup will be served for "Chow time" to give us a taste of Fall.
~1 Can organic beef broth
~2 Cans organic vegetable soup
~1 Cup cubed grass fed beef (already cooked; a leftover roast works perfectly)
~1 Cup Mother's Quick Barley
Mix all ingredients and simmer for 1/2hr.

Morning play before I announce that we will be spending time with "Sweet-N-Low" AKA Sugar

We pointed out Sugar's eyes, ears, nose & mouth & talked about the rules, like where we DON'T put our fingers! We discussed where we put our feet & never to stand behind the ponies!

Day 2, Children learned how to lead Sugar and we say Wooaah to stop and smooch to walk on.

Day 3, Grooming day! We learn what each brush is used for and how to use them correctly. I also show the children the bottom of the hoof and  they will soon be clipped like your mommy clips your nails at home.

Chow Time!!!
Beef & Barley Soup warms our tummies:)

There is always chores to be done...and I always have helping hands.

Our potting shelf in place with pots for our fall plants, coming soon!!

By the end of the week we have playtime with Sugar & spend time getting familiar & comfortable.

Yes, I think we are ready for the saddle;)

Mr. Ritner stops by to say hello and trim the ponies.
He says "Howdy Partners" and that's all I herd for the rest of the day:)

Showing the trimming tools and how its done.

We say goodbye to Mr. Ritner and so excited to start our pony rides with Sugar.

Sophie shows us how it's done!

Nathan's Turn!!!

Such a good listener & follows every instruction:)

Much Pony Love<3

~Splash Pad~

Our plan for Friday Fun Day, is to have a splash pad and picnic on the farm!
We have a long week ahead of us so we get started by painting Gnomes for our garden.

Glitter Garden Gnomes:
Easily done by using a gnome, fairy or any statue that
will withstand the weather .
Instead of painting, I decided to let the kids apply glitter glue
which holds up well  outdoors.

We learn colors and work on holding the paint brush the right way.

Our glitter gnomes will live in our fall garden, he watches over our plants
&  helps them grow;)

Alright guys lets get serious...we have morning chores to do Mrs. Ty!

Just another day on the farm moving ponies to a new pasture.

Finding feathers from our molting chickens can lead to a TICKLE FIGHT!!!!

Gabby's favorite part of the day:)

Hmmmm...what can we make with these outdoor blocks....

Sophie's boat:)

Finally, it's Splash Pad Time!!!!

Lots of giggles going on:)
Little Surfers...

These kids could play all day but it's time to dry off & get ready for the picnic!

Our basket is ready and we can't wait.

Yummmy!!

What a wonderful week!!!!

~From the Farm to the Sea~

O' we can't wait to go to the Fort Fisher Aquarium!!
We have spent so much time studying these Fishy Cards we are ready for the real thing!

Fishy Cards:
~Print cards from the Fort Fisher Aquarium website or create your own
~Color, cut & laminate cards
~I made a card holder for the cards by cutting squares out of felt.
~Then stitched them on 3 sides using embroidery thread.
~Add a cute little fishy or turtle on the front for decoration.
~One for each child, so they can match the fish card with the real thing!!
